My second week in CPH: Quick trip to Malmö, Sweden & CBS Introduction Week!
I started off my second week in Europe with a quick day trip to Malmö, Sweden! My friends and I left Copenhagen Central Station at 8:30 and arrived at 9:10.
Tip: Trains leaving Copenhagen Central Station are labeled with the trains final destination, so it might not show the actual destination that you are going to if you're leaving at one of its stops. So for example, we were headed to Malmö but our train showed a different city since that was the trains final destination. So make sure to match the times and the actual train number when finding your train to avoid confusion.
Also, if you ever do day trips, also make sure to bring your passport. You may not need it because you are traveling within the Schengen region but it's better to be safe than sorry. Conductors may ask you for ID. It would be very unfortunate if you were denied entrance to the country, or if you were trapped in the country unable to leave.
Once we arrived in Malmö, most stores and restaurants weren't open by this time so we had a chance to walk around and explore popular areas of the city. Here are some photos!
After we were done exploring, we went to Lillia Kafferosteriet to grab some breakfast. I saw a video online about this place and I thought it was worth trying. I highly recommend going here if you have the chance. Their pastries and coffee were really good and the prices are excellent as well.
I heard that cardamom buns were really popular at this place and in Copenhagen bakeries as well and it did not disappoint. It was a very interesting first experience trying it and I hope to try it again before I leave Europe.
Overall, I recommend going to Malmö if you have the chance. Although it's not that much different from Copenhagen, it's a good way to get comfortable traveling outside of the city.
Here are some final photos of that trip :)
During the week we had the Copenhagen Business School Introduction Week! It was a fun week filled with activities and presentations meant to help us get adjusted Copenhagen. Aside from that, my friends and I got to go to CPH Nights throughout this week which was a fun way to see night life around the city and meet new people.
CBS Introduction Week - The week had very useful presentations introducing the exchange students to housing specifics, sustainability, travel, exams, biking, night life, shopping, and much more.
Aside from that, signing up for the introduction week social week package let us do fun activities like the city center scavenger hunt, the hot chocolate meetup, and the Copenhagen canal tour!
Other activities from throughout the week:
We went to the world famous Gasoline Grill! It was SOO good. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. I highly recommend going here, especially their original location. Fun fact: Their business is centered around serving fresh organic food every day so they have no freezers in each of their locations.
Aside from that we got all you can eat sushi for Zach's 21st birthday! :) As you can see we definitely got our money's worth.
Unfortunately, at the end of the week I got sick so I had to slow down and stay home, which was bummer because my friends got to go to Sofia, Bulgaria! But it's okay because was able to rest and relax for my first official week of school. I'll make sure to cover that next time.
Here are some fun last photos!
Overall, it was a really fun week! See you in the next blog!
